Math: Using Pizza as a Framework for Doing Math
Using 'pizza math' as a hook, students each had an imaginary $20 to work in pairs and select pizza toppings and record them on a price sheet. With toppings representing dollar values, students made numeric combinations whose sum equaled 20 or less. Culminating the lesson, students used paper veggies to assemble their personal pizza of choice and discussed their selection process as a group. |
